What is the PADI Open Water Diver Course?

The PADI Open Water Course is the first level of diving certificate. You’ll learn how to become a safe, competent and confident diver and you’ll be certified to dive to a maximum depth of 18 meters. When you finish your PADI Open Water Course with us you’ll feel proud of your accomplishments, you’ll have made new friends and you’ll have your ticket to dive anywhere in the world.

During your course you’ll need to complete knowledge development (theory) modules and confined water (swimming pool) sessions, then you’ll be able to join us for your first incredible dives in the ocean. We like to be flexible because we understand that different people have different needs. Our courses last for 3 days and start from just 10,000 THB for our 4-dive beach course plus we have boat diving courses with options for 4, 5 or even 6 dives in the ocean!

Knowledge Development utilizing independent study from home with PADI eLearning so while you are here you don’t need to spend time in the classroom! If you don’t have time to study from home before you travel, don’t worry – we’ll guide you through the theory components here too.

Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills. You couldn’t ask for anywhere better to learn to dive. You’ll be in the hands of capable, experienced dive instructors in a purpose built dive training pool.

Open Water Dives to use your new skills and explore some of the most diverse and unusual marine life seen anywhere in the world! During your training dives you will have chance to explore our incredible Phuket dive sites as well as boat trip options to visit further afield.

Please note: To take the PADI Open Water Course you must be at least 10 years old. You need to have adequate swimming skills to swim 200meters and you need to be in good physical health. No prior experience of scuba diving is required.

Do I Need to Know How To Swim to Scuba Dive?

This is a question that I often get asked, and really it is not as simple as YES or NO. Here is some explanations and reasons why. If you want to become a certified scuba diver by doing the PADI Open Water Diver Course, the answer is yes. In the PADI Open Water Diver Course it is specified that you have to be able to swim continuously for 200 metres. This can be with any stroke however it does need to be continuous without stopping. There is alternate option and that is you do a 300 metre mask, fin and snorkel swim. Some do find this easier to the 200 swim.
