Bay 3 Lucy’s reef
Overview
Bay 3 and Lucy’s Reef is another very popular dive site on Racha Yai for all the same reasons as Bays 1 and 2. Another great place to learn to scuba dive.
There are no wrecks in this bay however at around the 20 metres mark there are a stack of concrete cubes that form an artificial reef. The reef is a popular home for Batfish, Moray eels, Lionfish and a great selection of common reef fish.
Head south and you will enter Lucy’s Reef and which consists predominantly of hard corals however the further south you go the hard corals disappear and are replaced by rock formations. the reef has been know to have eagle rays swim by and again if lucky the Manta rays have made an appearance here as well. A nice dive site that will throw up enough good stuff to keep all avid underwater photographers happy.
Another really good site for snorkelers and the best time to go there is the low season between April and November.
