Paradise Reef
Paradise Reef is situated on the eastern side of Patong Bay. This was once a dive site freely available to scuba divers. Unfortunately in recently years it have been taken over by a commercial operator and all entering the beach need to pay a fee. The dive site can be accessed by a long tail boat.
Site Description
It is a shallow site with the reef starting at the waters edge and running down to about 12 metres and can accessed by longtail boat or by Paradise Beach.
Paradise Reef contains mostly hard corals however to the east of Paradise Bay. There are a sprinkling of Anemone Corals which often house the False Clown (Nemo) Fish. Moray eels can be found here. There are basic of reef fish such as Parrot fish, Moorish Idols and Lizardfish.
Viability is often poor and the site contains debris from the heavily populated Patong Beach
It was often used as a training site because of its close proximity to Patong Beach. The shallow depths however as a dive site for experienced divers it cannot be recommended.
