Koh Bida Nai
Overview
Koh Bida Nai, the sister island to Koh Bida Nok, is part of the Phi Phi National Park. While it may not have the same diversity as Koh Bida Nok, it remains a very nice dive site.
The northern wall features stunning corals, which are the highlight of this dive site. On the southeastern side, a beautiful swim-through offers divers a picturesque view of large schools of snappers lining either side. Blacktip reef sharks and turtles are commonly seen here, as are big schools of trevallies and tuna.
During the right time of year, whale sharks often cruise by, so keep your eyes peeled. Ribbon eels and ornate ghost pipefish frequently appear in the broken coral and sandy areas. Recently, leopard sharks have been regularly spotted, and their gentle nature provides divers with memorable experiences. This site is also one of the best in the area to see hawksbill turtles.
For first-time divers, this site can be a bit challenging, so it is often done as the second dive when travelling to Phi Phi, allowing beginners to start in the more sheltered bay of Koh Bida Nok.
Koh Bida Nai offers a very nice dive and is a must-see for divers exploring the waters around Phuket, Thailand.
Getting There
Dive boats go to Phi Phi & Shark Point every day of the week (weather permitting) as a part of the Phi Phi & Shark Point, 3 dive day trip from Phuket.
All scuba diving sites are chosen at the discretion of the tour leader on the day of the dive. The selection of dive sites depends on weather conditions, currents, safety considerations, and the suitability for the majority of divers on the boat. Therefore, we cannot guarantee specific dive sites before the boat departs.
