Overview

A group of five islands, the most commonly dived is Koh Haa-Neua, A.K.A Chimney which is the northern most island. This is a stunning dive with magnificent hard and soft coral and amazing rock formations. Highlight by a unique grotto that leads to a chimney like vertical hole which begins around 18m and has two exits at 5m. Another dive in the group is Koh Ha Yai with some lovely caves and swim throughs. Koh Haa #2 and #4 also offer excellent scuba diving.

Koh Haa Yai

The largest of the Has Islands is Koh Has (5) Yai (big). She has a steep cliff perpendicular to sea level makes it way from sea level down to about 30 metres.

Koh Haa Yai is surrounded by hard coral reefs and has a lovely rock wall on the south side of the island. This levels out to about 30 metres to a sandy bottom that has a mixture of soft corals, sea fans and had corals.

There are two underwater caves on the south-east side. The entrance to the first cave is 12 metres. This cave does get narrower as you entered cave penetration is not recommended unless you are certified.

The second cave is a cavern as such and s to the east of the first cave. The entrance is split in two and is spacious and well lit. This cave is know as the “Cathedral” because of the light that is reflected from the surface.

Koh Haa – Neua

Koh Haa – Neua is the northern most island of the five islands. She is surrounded by wall lined with soft corals. This is the most popular of the dive sites at Koh Haa. The favourite site on the island is on the south sideband is characterised by the stunning outcrops covered by lush coral.

At about 16 metres there is a grotto that leads to a vertical type chimney swim through. The chimney has two exits at 5 metres and is a favourite with divers.

Aussie Divers Luxury ran two trips to Koh Haa in May of 2018 with the thought of possibly running a weekly trip there. The dive site was well received by divers and hopefully it will become a regular dive site in the future.

One of the best scuba diving sites in the southern Andaman Sea and is accessible mostly by liveaboard boats out of Phuket.
