Racha Yai and Racha Noi are the two most popular dives sites in the region. Only an hour and a half boat ride from Chalong Bay, Phuket it is visually stunning they provides a diverse range of marine life which is accessible to all levels of divers. Both islands are ideal for beginner divers and there is one of the best and safest places in the region to begin your PADI Open Water Course or Discover Scuba Diving adventure.

Both islands can also be named Raya and Raja island. Loosely Racha and Raja mean king in Thai and Indian respectively and Yai (big) and Noi (little) in Thai so you have Big King, Little King islands.

Phuket’s most popular day trip. Accessible to all levels of divers and snorkelers. Coral begins almost immediately at the waters edge and starts to taper off around the 20 metre mark. The east side contains majority of the dive sites and is popular during the summer months May to November. Good visibility that usually averages around the 20 metre mark. A partially good and recommended beginners dive site.

Dive Sites include : Bungalow Bay, Siam Bay, Bays 1and 2, Racha Yai Wrecks, Staghorn Reef, Bay 3 Lucy’s Reef, Bays 4 and 5 and Home Run Reef.

Day Trip Diving In Thailand

When scuba diving in Phuket you'll be embarking on what is referred to as 'Day Trip Scuba Diving', day trips will take you to one or many of the Islands around Phuket that house our outstanding reefs & wrecks. Because these Islands are typically one to two hours from the mainland by boat it works out much better if you do multiple dives while you are out there. Day trip diving here in Thailand will usually see you doing two or three dives per day, which is awesome because you get to see a multitude of different dive sites, marine life and scenery for a relatively low price, plus we get you back home in time for dinner.
