ReActivate Refresher
EXPLORE YOUR COURSE
For diver safety, PADI, SSI, DAN and the WRSTC all recommend a refresher after 6–12 months of inactivity.
About Refresher Programs
The PADI ReActivate and Refresher experience at Aussie Divers Phuket is designed to get you back in the water feeling confident, relaxed, and safe. We offer several refresher options depending on how long you’ve been out of the water, your comfort level, and your previous dive experience, so there’s no one-size-fits-all approach.

Do I Need A Refresher?
First and foremost, if you feel that you need a scuba refresher, then you probably do. The decision shouldn’t be based on time alone. Your confidence, comfort in the water, and overall dive ability are just as important factors to consider
Divers come from very different backgrounds. Someone who has only completed the four dives of the PADI Open Water Course and felt nervous at the time may benefit greatly from a refresher, even if it hasn’t been long since their last dive. On the other hand, a Divemaster with hundreds or thousands of dives may only need a very quick practice session. Most certified divers sit somewhere in between, and that’s perfectly normal.
In Thailand, all recreational diving is conducted as group diving, with small ratios (typically a maximum of 4 divers per professional) and must be guided at all times. When a diver hasn’t been in the water for a while, they often breathe through their air supply more quickly due to stress, buoyancy issues, or unfamiliarity with equipment. This can shorten the dive for the entire group, including divers who may be very current and experienced. Doing a refresher is not just about personal safety, it’s also about being a considerate and capable dive buddy.
Above all else, safety is our priority. A refresher helps ensure you feel relaxed, confident, and ready to enjoy your dives without unnecessary pressure on yourself or others.Â
