The Boat

The sister boat to The Junk, The Phinisi, originally named ‘Cheng I Sao’. A brand new route for her will commence in 2018. Pronounced: Pinisi, she will be operating through out Thailand and Myanmar and will sail on four different itineraries with 4, 6, 7 and 10 night dive cruises.

While a remarkable history and character unites the two yachts, The Phinisi complements The Junk by offering various itineraries in Thailand and an exciting new destination: Myanmar! With 7 and 10 night itineraries, The Phinisi takes you to the best dive sites in the beautiful Mergui Archipelago.

The Cabins

The Phinisi comfortably accommodates 18 divers in 7 beautifully finished, spacious cabins. All have en-suite facilities, hot showers and independently controlled air-conditioners. Cabins have overhead reading lights, bath towels, lockable safety boxes and cupboards.

The Food

Excellent! The meals on The Phinisi are served buffet style inside the atmospheric Teak Wood saloon. A wide variety is served at every meal ensuring all guests have the opportunity to taste the unique flavours of the wonderful Thai cuisine as well as various tasty western style dishes. We always receive great customer feedback regarding the food.

Safety Features

Patient area with 2 x large oxygen tanks, 40 life jackets, life raft for 25 people, 3 x VHF radios, 2 x CB radios, Sat nav, Depth sounder, fire extinguishers.

What is Included

Air-conditioning in all cabins. All meals, fruits, drinking water, coffee, tea. Divemaster supervision, tanks, weights, weight belts. Transfer to and from your hotel / dive vessel.

This is a question that I often get asked, and really it is not as simple as YES or NO. If you want to become a certified scuba diver by doing the PADI Open Water Diver Course then the answer is yes. Changes To Scuba Diving Rules Similan Islands, Koh Bon and Koh Tachai

The Similan Island Marine Park Authorities (The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation)(DNP) held a meeting on the 16th October in relation to a wide range of issues including the number of scuba divers permitted to dive the Similan Islands and Koh Bon each day. Hardly I dive goes by in Phuket without seeing an eel. They are at virtually every know dive site. Here are some interesting fact about them. There is over 200 different species.
