Underwater Marriage Proposal & Trash The Dress Ideas

A lot of marriage proposals take place at some fancy restaurant, beach, viewpoint etc. Why not try something a little different & outside the norm? Here is how to do a underwater Proposal and trash the dress.

Have you thought about doing an underwater proposal? Maybe you’re looking for some different ideas for wedding photos?

Underwater Proposal

If you are looking at doing something different then an underwater proposal here in the warm waters of Phuket is a perfect idea. Our dive sites at Racha Islands offer nice conditions and an amazing experience for an underwater proposal. Aussie Divers Phuket over the past few years has helped many couples with underwater proposals. We can provide underwater signs, photographer & a bottle of bubbles on the boat afterwards.

Our latest underwater proposal was for the lovely Australian couple Leigh & Elizabeth. Leigh surprised Elizabeth underwater at Racha Islands whilst diving here in Phuket. (most importantly she said yes)

Under water marriage proposal

During a recent trip to Phuket, my then partner, now fiancé wanted to scuba dive. After researching several dive companies in the area, I found Aussie divers to be very professional and accommodating in all our needs. They responded quickly to my inquiries and I liked their procedures for first time divers.

I then thought this would be a perfect opportunity to propose to the love of my life. I thought an underwater proposal would be different, so I asked Ash from Aussie divers if we could stage an under water proposal to my partner. Ash from Aussie divers was very happy to help set this up with me and it went off flawlessly. We planned the marriage proposal via email and on the day everything went according to plan thanks to Ash and Andre and the team at Aussie Divers.

I can highly recommend Aussie divers if you plan to visit Phuket and want to go scuba diving. We had a lot of fun and made my partner feel at ease during her first time. Thanks all at Aussie Divers for a fantastic day and a memorable marriage proposal.

Trash The Dress

Over the years we have also had some special “Trash The Dress” requests. Taking underwater photos of the Bride & groom in their wedding dress & suit. In August 2018 we had a couple from America who had their wedding on one of the pristine beaches here in Phuket. The following day they decided to have some underwater wedding photos taken at the Racha Islands.

Great experience!

Ashley was awesome! He was very accommodating and quick to respond to all of our messages and questions—even with a 12 hour time difference! We wanted wedding photos taken while SCUBA diving. It was my husbands first dive after his open water scuba…and he was fully clothed! We struggled a bit with the awkwardness of wearing wedding attire and not our normal dive gear. Ashley was patient and made sure we felt comfortable and ready. We can’t thank him enough for this experience and making our special occasion an amazing time! More

Do I Need to Know How To Swim to Scuba Dive?

This is a question that I often get asked, and really it is not as simple as YES or NO. Here is some explanations and reasons why. If you want to become a certified scuba diver by doing the PADI Open Water Diver Course, the answer is yes. In the PADI Open Water Diver Course it is specified that you have to be able to swim continuously for 200 metres. This can be with any stroke however it does need to be continuous without stopping. There is alternate option and that is you do a 300 metre mask, fin and snorkel swim. Some do find this easier to the 200 swim. You also have to be able to tread water or float for at least 10 minut [...]

How to Improve My Air Consumption Scuba Diving

Having poor air consumption is not only frustrating for the diver involved, it is also frustrating for the diver’s buddy or dive group. Here are a few tips on how to improve your air consumption whilst scuba diving. There is often as scuba diving safety rule in parts of the world (Thailand is one) when the first person is low on air then the whole group ends the dive. Therefore, if divers have paid good money to dive and the dive was cut short by someone with poor air consumption then that person can become quite unpopular. Over the years I have heard a lot of excuses to why someone’s air consumption is high, often I tend to [...]
