PADI Bubblemaker

The PADI is a chance for kids to try scuba diving and blow bubbles under the watchful eye of a highly qualified PADI Instructor. Children must be at least 8 years old and they can use normal scuba gear to breathe underwater and they can use that gear under water at a bepth no deeper that 2.0 metres. Aussie Divers can organise a group event doing the exciting Bubblemaker. This can be with friends or family at your pool or our pool in Chalong Phuket.

A child must be 8 years old or older. Your child must be comfortable in the water, but no prior experience is necessary. Parental approval is required.

**The PADI Bubblemaker can at times be done in open water. The depth restriction if two metres still applies and the sea water must provide pool like conditions in relation to clarity and water movement.**

Bubblemakers get a chance to:

  • Experience scuba diving under the direct care and supervision of a PADI Pro
  • Take their first breaths underwater in water shallower than 2 metres/6 feet
  • Learn about and use scuba diving equipment made for children – not adults
  • Have lots of fun

Do I Need to Know How To Swim to Scuba Dive?

This is a question that I often get asked, and really it is not as simple as YES or NO. If you want to become a certified scuba diver by doing the PADI Open Water Diver Course, the answer is yes. In the PADI Open Water Diver Course it is specified that you have to be able to swim 200 metres. This can be with any stroke. You also have to be able to tread water or float for at least 10 minutes. The reason for this is not for the fact that scuba diving requires you to swim. But rather it is for your and your groups safety. In the unlikely event that your BCD (Buoyancy Control Device) was to falter then there would be no device to kee [...]

Scuba Diving Phuket – Recovery After the Pandemic

The Phuket scuba diving industry is heavily reliant on international visitors and some businesses are almost 99% dependent on international divers. It was a very tough time for scuba diving in Phuket. A lot of scuba diving instructors returned to their native countries and employment within the scuba diving was slashed. The pand [...]
