Divers are reporting of loosing count of the number of different manta rays circling the famous west ridge pinnacle. Some are say it is as many as 10 and others are saying more. Orca Killer Whale Spotted Off Freedom Beach Patong, Phuket

the Phuket post is reporting that an Orca (Killer Whale) has been spotted off Freedom Beach, Patong on the 8th January 2016. Freedom Beach is is situated near Tri Trang Beach on the southern edge of Patong Bay Phuket. The Phuket Post wrote; The Orca or Killer Whales can be found in all oceans, from Arctic and Antarctic regions to tropical seas. Spotted Eagle Rays a regular at Racha Noi Islands

Right now at Koh Racha Noi, Phuket, Thailand we are regularly seeing whist scuba diving the beautiful White Spotted Eagle Rays. These are majestic creatures that are not all that common to the area and if found are normally at Racha Noi and Racha Yai Islands which are about 30 km south of Phuket. Belonging to the same family as the awesome manta rays, Eagle rays grow up to a maximum size of five meters in length and three meters wide. These gentle rays are very curious and usually stick around checking out the divers. Minke Whales Sighted in Phuket

On Thursday this week a pod of Minke Whales were sighted between Racha Yai and Racha Noi Islands. Minke Whales are rare to the area however over recent years with the increased protection of whales in general throughout the world they are becoming more frequent here in the Andaman Sea. They have been reported in the past to reach between 9-10 metres in size. Feed back from those that have dived with Minke whales in the past say that they are amazing creatures to scuba dive with. Why We Should Help Save All Sharks

Phuket and its surrounding areas are fortunate to have some wonderful sharks to go diving with. Black Tip Reef sharks and Leopard (above) sharks are possibly the two most common.
