Overview
Racha Noi and Racha Yai are well-known dive sites near Phuket, with Racha Yai being the more accessible of the two. Both sites feature calm, clear waters with excellent visibility, making them ideal for beginners and those looking for an easy day of diving. These locations are perfect for divers who haven’t dived in a while and want a relaxing experience. While sightings are rare, there is a chance to see manta rays at both islands, particularly between November to April. As Phuket’s most popular day trip destinations, these sites cater to divers and snorkelers of all levels.
The closer island, Racha Yai, features several intentionally sunk wrecks that form an artificial reef, including the Harruby (sunk in 2011) and MV Meditation (sunk in 2023). Although these wrecks have been fully stripped, they attract a variety of marine life, making them interesting dive sites for advanced divers.
Racha Noi and Racha Yai are highly recommended for beginners and novice divers, making them the easiest dive sites for those new to scuba diving in Phuket. However, over the past 10-15 years, Phuket has experienced several large-scale coral bleaching events, affecting the coral and marine life at these dive sites. While the Racha Islands provide a good variety of sites for beginner and novice divers, they might not be as exciting for more experienced divers.
Schedule
- 7:00-7:50 am | Hotel pick up* (depending on location).
- 8:00am | Depart from Chalong pier.
- Breakfast, Lunch & snacks onboard, plus some nice diving.
- 5:00-5:30 pm | Return to Chalong pier.

Hotel transfers are included from Kalim, Patong, Karon, Kata, Chalong, Rawai, and Nai Harn. Outside of these areas, we can still arrange transfers however there would be additional charges for pickup & return.
