Do I Need to Know How To Swim to Scuba Dive?

This is a question that I often get asked, and really it is not as simple as YES or NO. If you want to become a certified scuba diver by doing the PADI Open Water Diver Course, the answer is yes. In the PADI Open Water Diver Course it is specified that you have to be able to swim 200 metres. This can be with any stroke. You also have to be able to tread water or float for at least 10 minutes. Where is the best scuba diving in Phuket?

Phuket is a popular tourist destination in Thailand, known for its stunning beaches and crystal-clear waters. It's also a haven for scuba divers, offering some of the best diving spots in the world. The warm and clear waters around Phuket are home to a diverse range of marine life, including sea turtles, barracudas, and colorful corals. One of the most popular diving spots in Phuket is the Similan Islands, which are located about 100 kilometers northwest of Phuket. Best done as liveaboard trips the islands boast some of the most impressive underwater landscapes in the region, with granite boulders forming caves, swim-throughs, and [...]

Before my first dive, I underwent a brief training session with my PADI instructor. We went over the basic principles of scuba diving, such as equalizing pressure in my ears and mask clearing techniques. Even though it was just a quick session, it was eno [...]
