Why does my scuba mask fog up?
Fogging scuba or snorkeling masks have been a scuba diving issue since scuba diving first started.A foggy mask can ruin a dive. Here we will try and work out why does our scuba masks fog up?
The basic principle on why a mask fogs is a simple one. In the simplest term, temperature inside the mask is greater than the outside of the mask. The temperature difference occurs because our body temperature inside (skin, forehead, breathing) is around 37 degrees Celsius or 98 degrees Fahrenheit and the water on the outside of the mask is less than the water temperature.

During your PADI Open Water course you learnt that there are some things you cannot do straight after scuba diving. We can all remember that we cannot fly after scuba diving however there are quite a number of other things we should avoid doing as well.
All have to do with the build-up of nitrogen in our body and all heighten the risk of decompression sickness and should be avoided.

Scuba Diving is a unique activity that low impact and minimal skill requirement allows it to be enjoyed by most age levels and sporting prowess. Here we explore what is the oldest you can scuba dive?
However at both ends of the age level spectrum there are some precautions that need to be addressed prior to diving. With children, emotional and behavioral maturity are the major concerns. With the older generation, it is medical fitness to dive that is the major worry.

Here are some tips about what I, the boss looks for when I am employing a scuba diving instructor.
Being a PADI Scuba Diving instructor is one of the best jobs in the world. Given that PADI has dive centres in 186 countries around the globe, this could give a dive instructor the opportunity to travel and work. I don’t think there is a dive instructor out there that does not dream of working their way around the world and diving in exotic locations.

Aussie Divers Phuket introduces Lara Weyhausen, our English/German speaking PADI Scuba Diving Instructor.
Lara is from Niedersachsen in the north west of Germany.
Her first scuba diving experience was on the small island of Koh Phangan, Thailand when she was just 12 years old. She did a PADI Discover Scuba Diving with her mother and sister and was fortunate enough to see a whale shark. Something she loves reminding her boss about as he has never seen one.
