About The Course​
Are you ready to join the ranks of dedicated professionals who teach the world’s most progressive and popular scuba diver education programs? If so, the PADI Assistant Instructor program at Aussie Divers Phuket is your ideal next step. The PADI Assistant Instructor program is a sub-set of the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC), this program lays the foundation for a rewarding career in scuba instruction. The course, conducted by our team of experienced staff including PADI Course Director, Master Instructors and Staff Instructors spans five days and equips you with the essential teaching methods for scuba diving in confined water, open water training dives, and classroom settings.
The PADI Assistant Instructor course focuses on building your skills as an instructional assistant while also preparing you to independently conduct certain PADI programs. Upon successful completion, you’ll gain the qualifications to teach specialties such as Peak Performance Buoyancy, PADI AWARE programs, and Coral Reef Conservation under the supervision of a PADI Instructor. You will also be able to independently conduct Discover Scuba Diving sessions in a pool or confined water, lead PADI Seal Team AquaMissions, and run Bubblemaker programs. This course empowers you to inspire new divers and contribute significantly to their diving education.
The journey doesn’t stop at becoming a PADI Assistant Instructor. When you’re ready to progress, you can attend the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program, which allows you to enter the PADI Instructor Examination (IE) and earn a full PADI Instructor certification. Aussie Divers Phuket provides comprehensive support throughout your training, ensuring you’re well-prepared to take on the responsibilities of a dive instructor. By completing the Assistant Instructor course, you’ll gain valuable experience and insight into teaching diving, setting the stage for a successful and fulfilling career in the diving industry.
Requirements
Minimum age: 18+
Minimum 60 logged dives (100 to attend IE)
Been a certified diver for at least six months
Dive medical within last 12 months
Hold PADI or equivalent certificate for:
- Open Water Diver
- Advanced Open Water Diver
- Rescue Diver
- Divemaster
- EFR/CPR First Aid within last 24 months
