Equipment Specialist

EXPLORE YOUR COURSE

Keep your dive equipment in top shape, dive with confidence.

About the course

The PADI Equipment Specialist course is designed to give you the confidence and skills to handle minor equipment issues that could otherwise interrupt your dive plans. From replacing a broken fin strap to fixing a missing o-ring or patching a wetsuit tear, you’ll learn practical solutions that keep you in the water rather than sitting out a dive.

Beyond quick fixes, this course also deepens your understanding of how scuba gear works. You’ll gain in-depth knowledge about the function and care of different equipment, helping you to look after your investment and feel more comfortable with your gear. Please note that this is not a service technician course; manufacturer service training is conducted separately by the major equipment brands. However, this course will provide you with valuable insight into equipment design and operation.

Available to divers as young as 10 years old with a PADI (Junior) Scuba Diver certification or higher, the Equipment Specialist course is a valuable investment for any diver. Whether you’re just starting your diving journey or already an experienced adventurer, this course helps you become a more self-sufficient, capable, and confident diver.

PADI Equipment Specialty Online

A key advantage of the PADI Equipment Specialist course is that it can be completed without any dives. Start with the convenient online theory (PADI eLearning), then complete the hands-on practical components in Phuket with our experienced instructors. These include skills such as tank analyzing, adjusting dive computer settings, and learning simple field repairs.

Your Next Adventure

Understanding how your scuba equipment works is one of the best ways to dive with confidence. The PADI Equipment Specialist course helps you manage minor issues, perform basic repairs, and properly care for your gear, so you don’t miss out on valuable dive time.

Diving with enriched air nitrox also pairs well with this specialty:

PADI Wreck Diver course – Popular wrecks tend to be deeper, so using enriched air nitrox can maximize your exploration time.

PADI Enriched Air Diver (Nitrox) course – One of the most popular PADI specialties, Nitrox gives you longer no-stop limits, reduces nitrogen load, and helps you spend more time underwater.

Join the PADI Master Scuba Diver Challenge. If you are a PADI Rescue Diver with five PADI Specialty Courses and 50 logged dives, you can become the “black belt” of scuba diving – a PADI Master Scuba Diver.
