Koh Bida Nok

Bida Nok Phi Phi Thailand Day Trip With Aussie Divers Phuket

Overview

Koh Bida Nok – Phi Phi is arguably Phuket’s best day trip dive site and one of my personal favourites. It’s likely to be on your itinerary when scuba diving in Phuket and the Phi Phi Islands, weather permitting.

This dive site is accessible to divers of all levels and offers an exciting experience for everyone, from Open Water divers to the more advanced divers amongst us. The underwater topography is incredibly diverse, featuring sandy bottoms, sloping reefs, a great wall, small caves, large crevices, and a wonderful array of both hard and soft corals.

The fish life here is abundant, with large schools of snappers, trevallies, tuna, and various species of anemone fish, surgeonfish, and butterflyfish. The rare ghost pipefish can often be found lurking around the large coral bommies. Koh Bida Nok boasts possibly one of the best selections of fish life in the area.

The marine life is equally impressive, with frequent sightings of blacktip reef sharks and leopard sharks resting on the sandy bottoms. Whale sharks can sometimes be seen cruising by between November to April. Turtles, cuttlefish, and octopuses are common, as are sea snakes and various species of moray eels, including the stunning zebra moray. Seahorses and colourful nudibranchs also add to the vibrant underwater scene.

Recently, huge schools of both yellow and two-spot snapper have made this island their home, forming stunning formations that amaze divers. Large schools of tuna also frequently pass through, adding to the spectacular underwater display.

Koh Bida Nok is an excellent site for completing your PADI Open Water Course. A dive here will leave you eager for more. It comes highly recommended.

In addition to its appeal to divers, Koh Bida Nok is also one of the best snorkelling sites in the region. Snorkelers have the chance to get up close with blacktip reef sharks and a wide variety of reef fish, making it a fantastic experience for all water enthusiasts.

Getting There

Dive boats go to Phi Phi & Shark Point every day of the week (weather permitting) as a part of the Phi Phi & Shark Point, 3 dive day trip from Phuket.

All scuba diving sites are chosen at the discretion of the tour leader on the day of the dive. The selection of dive sites depends on weather conditions, currents, safety considerations, and the suitability for the majority of divers on the boat. Therefore, we cannot guarantee specific dive sites before the boat departs.
