Marina Bay
Overview
The bay just south of Camera Bay on the western side of Racha Noi features similar characteristics. South of Marina Bay, there is a prominent single rock that extends from high on the hillside down into the water and beyond. Just outside Marina Bay lies a massive rock structure known as Marita’s Rock.
Granite rocks are a common sight on the western side of Racha Noi Island. These rocks follow the contour of the land and continue underwater, creating numerous swim-throughs between the formations. This geological feature makes for an interesting and dynamic diving experience.
While currents can be quite strong outside the bay, Marina Bay itself, though deeper than most other bays in the area, is well-protected from passing currents. This makes it a safer option for divers seeking to explore the area’s depths.
Marita’s Rock is rumoured to be a feeding station for manta rays. Sightings of these majestic creatures are not uncommon, especially between December to April, making it a popular spot for scuba divers hoping to encounter manta rays. The unique rock formations, combined with the possibility of seeing manta rays, make this area a must-visit for divers exploring Racha Noi.
Getting There
Dive boats go to Racha Noi every day of the week as a part of the Racha Islands, 3 dive day trip in Phuket.
All scuba diving sites are chosen at the discretion of the tour leader on the day of the dive. The selection of dive sites depends on weather conditions, currents, safety considerations, and the suitability for the majority of divers on the boat. Therefore, we cannot guarantee specific dive sites before the boat departs.
