The Junk

Overview

The Junk Liveaboard is a stunningly beautiful vessel that sails through the Similan and Surin Islands, offering a unique and stylish diving experience.

History of The Junk Liveaboard

The Phuket liveaboard June Hong Chian Lee, also known as The Junk, was built in the port city of Penang, Malaysia in 1962. Initially designed to carry mango wood charcoal until 1985, she was then transformed into a classic yacht. A major overhaul began in 1997, taking two years to complete, and turned her into the magnificent Similan liveaboard vessel she is today. Movie enthusiasts may recognize her distinctive shape from appearances in The Man With The Golden Gun, Shanghai, and Swiss Family Robinson.

Despite her classic looks, she is equipped with modern conveniences, including air conditioning in all indoor spaces, a TV, DVD player, and an extensive library inside the saloon. The foredeck is perfect for sipping cocktails as the sun sets.

With an ambience like no other boat sailing the rich, clear waters around the Similan and Surin Islands, a truly unique experience awaits discerning divers looking for a trip with style.
